JanisMicroparts
Expert in precision manufacturing of microparts
A tiny component slipped from my hands. I knelt down and carefully scanned the floor of my workshop. Hours of concentrated work had gone into that one piece, so searching was inevitable. Fortunately, an exact copy was waiting in my bench drawer—a reward for staying organized. This is the life of a watchmaker: patience, precision, and preparation. And it is precisely this craft that now opens the door to a new mission. I am launching my company, JanisMicroparts, where craftsmanship and innovation come together.
For twenty years, I have devoted my days to the art of watchmaking. During that time, I opened my own workshop in the historic heart of Delft and co-founded a clock manufacturing business for a period. The clocks ticked relentlessly, but it was time for a new direction. Those who choose handcrafted quality and individuality inevitably sacrifice quantity. The same was true for my watch business: the passion was undeniable, but reality demanded change.
This occupied my mind for a long time. How does an independent-minded watchmaker, who has always worked by hand, find his way in a world of automation? Step by step, I learned to sharpen my perspective. One thing was clear from the beginning: my company is built on sustainable quality, designed for the future.
With this experience, I delved deeply into the defined domain of microparts, a web of internal diversity.
I discovered the possibility of building prototypes as a preparation for series production. This offers new opportunities to combine handcraft with modern machining.
The outcome is revealed in JanisMicroparts, where I bring my passion to life through an innovative approach: designing, creating, and refining microparts, which I duplicate with the help of precision machinery and offer to clients. Where standards are high and others might stop, that is where I begin.
